Frequently Asked Questions

What is the flow rate of a bladder pump?

The Spectra Bladder Pump can achieve flow rates as low as 15 ml/min to as high as 900 ml/min. The flow rates of bladder pumps are dependent on their mechanical construction as well as the controller/compressor.

How deep can a bladder pump work?

Bladder pumps can pump up to 350ft depending on a number of conditions. The most important of these being the pressure produced by the Controller. The Spectra Bladder Pump set can produce lift up to 300ft.

When would you use a bladder pump?

Bladder pumps are used for low flow sampling usually at depths greater than 33ft. However, due to the non contact method of sampling, many prefer the bladder pump as an instrument of choice for groundwater sampling especially when monitoring VOCs as studies have shown degassing to potentially occur with other methods of sampling thereby impacting analytical results.
