High Volume Purging of Groundwater Wells involves the emptying of Wells for recharge testing. Depending on the recharge rate of the well, High Volume Purging can involves rates as low as 500ml/min to as high as 2L/min.
Depending on the depth and recharge rate a variety of equipment and samplers can be used.
Peristaltic Pumps
The Spectra Field Pro Peristaltic Pump can be used for High Volume Purging of Groundwater Wells of rates as low as 500ml/min to around 1L/min.
Using a Spectra Field Pro Peristaltic Pump can be a cost effective solution to emptying a well as it requires no external power sources. Tubing can be optimized to provide high flow rates.
12V Centrifugal Pumps
The Spectra Field Pro III can operate as a controller to the Spectra C Flo Centrifugal Pump. These Pumps can operate as deep as 30m (90ft) and can pump up to 5L/min. Simply attach your Field Pro to an external battery and run the attached pump at your desired flow rates.
